FEEL YOU, FEEL ME NOT?
My thesis is an attempt to capture the tension of fearing and craving intimacy. Drawn to the tentacles of jellyfish that contextualized the dynamics between human relationships, emphasizing on the push(fear) and pull(desire). The art nouveau decorative cast iron gates, which takes inspiration from jellyfish structure, reimagining the delicate and openness structure as soft protection. With my knitted textiles, the interaction between various yarns materialize the tension within relationships. For silhouette inspiration, I’m specially drawn to lingerie as soft structures and protection for women, expressing intimacy and vulnerability at the same time. The collection creates soft boundaries for the wearer, allowing space to approach and withdraw.
